To commemorate the contribution of Professor David Freestone (Executive Secretary,
Sargasso Sea Commission) to the realpolitik and scholarship on climate change and oceans,
Professor Ronán Long (Director of WMU-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute) and Professor
Richard Barnes (Professor in International Law and Research Impact Lead, University of
Lincoln) edited a compendium of essays in his honour. This book of essays entitled “Frontiers
in International Environmental Law: Oceans and Climate Challenges Essays in Honour of
David Freestone” was launched via a webinar on 8 June 2021 which marks the World Ocean
Day.
