Professor Malgosia Fitzmaurice
LL.B., LL.M., Ph.D. (University of Warsaw)
Professor Malgosia Fitzmaurice has studied international law and specializes in international environmental (maritime) law and the law of treaties. She is Professor of Public International Law at Queen Mary University of London, and the Nippon Foundation Professor in Marine Environmental Law at IMLI.
She is a widely known expert in these subject areas and has published extensively. In 2001, she delivered lectures on the protection of the environment at The Hague Academy of International Law. Professor Fitzmaurice has been invited to several Universities, such as Sorbonne, Berkley, and in 2014, to the University of Kobe to deliver a series of lectures on environmental protection.
She is also an Editor in Chief of the International Community Law Review and also the Editor in Chief of the book series Queen Mary Studies in International Law published by Martinus Nijhoff Publishers.
Professor Fitzmaurice is also one of the main editors of the forthcoming IMLI Manual on International Maritime Law.
